Smarsh has introduced several key security enhancements in Telegram Capture for Android and iOS. These security enhancements reinforce data protection, mitigate cybersecurity risks, and further align with industry-standards. The current version of the application is not compatible with the new security enhancements. As a result, you are required to upgrade to the latest version of the application at the earliest. The upgrade ensures there is no data loss, and all chat history is retained.
Important
Upgrading the application to include the new security enhancements is a one-time action. All future upgrades or installations follow the standard procedure outlined in the product documentation.
Users who do not upgrade to the latest version of the app may experience unexpected behavior, as the current version is not aligned with the updated security policy.
If users cannot receive SMS or email messages at the address registered with Capture Mobile, administrators must contact Smarsh Support before deploying the latest version of the app.

Upgrading to the Latest Version
When the new version of Telegram Capture with the latest security enhancements is released, existing users must manually upgrade to the latest version.
Upgrading Telegram Capture on iOS
According to your company's distribution method, you can download the latest app version from the Appstore link or through your company's MDM.
To upgrade through the AppStore Private Link:
Tap the link received from your administrator.
Tap Update.
The Telegram Capture application installs on your phone. You can monitor progress on iPhone’s home screen.After the installation is complete, tap the Telegram Capture (TM TLGRM) icon to launch the updated version of the application.
The Verification Code screen appears.
You will receive the verification as an email or SMS based on the admin settings for your organization. The verification is a random 8-character alphanumeric containing numbers, and upper and lower-case letters.Note
The verification code is valid for only a few minutes.

Enter the verification code and tap Submit.
You can copy-paste the verification code from the email or SMS.
The app opens with all your chat history allowing you to continue conversations.
Important
Smarsh recommends that you keep the app open in the foreground for at least 10 minutes after upgrading to the latest version. After 10 minutes, do not force close the app, but allow it to run in the background.
Upgrading Telegram Capture on Android
According to your company's distribution method, you can download the latest app version in one of the following ways:
Through your company's MDM for the Play Store version.
By using a direct file provided to your company admin. The company admin can request the file by contacting Smarsh support team here.
To upgrade:
Tap the link received from your administrator.
The Verify Account screen appears.
