Applicable to End Users
When you install or reinstall the Capture Mobile app and sign in, the app automatically retrieves your recent message history from the server. This ensures that you do not lose your conversations when you switch devices or reinstall the app.
Synchronizing Messages
After you activate the app, the Synchronizing messages screen is displayed:

The app retrieves your messages from the last two months.
A progress bar indicates the synchronization progress.
Keep the app in the foreground until synchronization completes.
Synchronization is performed once, at installation, and applies to all sign-in methods: signing in with a new number, signing in to an existing account, and signing in using single sign-on (SSO). If you are a new user with no message history, synchronization completes instantly.
The time taken depends on the number of messages in your history. A large history can take more than 20 minutes to synchronize.
What is Restored
The following are restored:
Messages from the last two months, for both Enterprise Number Capture and WhatsApp API chats.
One-to-one chats and group chats.
Text messages and media, such as images, videos, voice messages, and documents.
The read or unread state of your messages. Messages that you had already read are not shown as new.
What Is Not Restored
The following are not restored:
Messages older than two months.
Broadcast channels and broadcast messages.
Chats that you cleared before uninstalling the app. For more information, see Clearing Chat.
Chats and groups that you deleted before uninstalling the app.
If Synchronization Is Interrupted
If you close the app during synchronization, the app resumes from where it stopped the next time you open it. The progress bar restarts from the beginning of the display, but the messages that were already retrieved are not synchronized again.
If the network connection is lost, the app opens to the chat list and continues synchronizing in the background when a connection is available.
Archiving
Messages that are restored during synchronization are not sent to your organization's archive again. Your archive is unchanged, and no duplicate items are created. For more information, see Archiving Capture Mobile Data.
