You might need to reset your WhatsApp Phone Capture account for reasons including:
Account Inactivity: Meta deletes accounts if an account is inactive for more than 120 days.
Device loss or theft: If your device is lost or stolen, you can deactivate your account by contacting your network provider. You can then reset your account on a new device.
In any of these scenarios, when you open the WhatsApp Phone Capture app, the following screen appears:
To reset your account:
Tap OK on the reset pop-up screen.
The app is closed.Reopen the app.
Tap Agree & Continue.
Your phone number must be autopopulated. If not already populated, enter your phone number.Tap Next.
Your account is verified on our server. Do not tap Edit Number or close the app.
You are asked to verify your phone number. Tap Yes.
You are presented with the one-time-code screen.
After you receive the one-time-code, enter the code.
You have successfully reset your account.
