Applicable to End Users

To sign in to Telegram Capture, you must enter a verification code received from Telegram. The verification code for third-party apps such as Telegram Capture is received only on the native Telegram app. Telegram does not send the verification code for third-party apps as an SMS. Hence, you must download, install, and sign in to the native Telegram app before you sign in to Telegram Capture.

Important

Without downloading and installing the native Telegram app, you will not be able to sign in to Telegram Capture.

Corporate Owned Devices

If you are using a corporate device provided by your organization:

  1. Download and install  the native Telegram app.

  2. Sign in using your mobile number or enterprise number. You will receive the verification code as an SMS.

  3. Download and install Telegram Capture.

  4. Sign in using the same mobile number or enterprise number.

  5. During sign in, you will receive the verification code on the native Telegram app.

  6. Enter the verification code in Telegram Capture.

  7. Uninstall the native Telegram app.

BYOD Devices

  • If you have not installed the native Telegram app, follow the steps under Corporate Owned Devices.

  • If you have installed and signed in to the native Telegram app with your mobile number, you can add another account with an enterprise number to receive the Telegram Capture verification code:

    1. Open the native Telegram app.

    2. Tap the menu icon > Add Account.

    3. Sign in with your enterprise number. You will receive the verification code on the Secure Mobile Capture app, if installed. Else, you will receive the verification code as an SMS or to your organization email, based on your organization's settings.
      You will now have two accounts on the native Telegram app.

    4. Download and install Telegram Capture.

    5. Sign in using your enterprise number.
      You will receive the verification code on the native Telegram app.

    6. Enter the verification code in Telegram Capture.

    7. Sign out of the newly added account in the native Telegram app:

      1. In the native Telegram app, tap the new account > Settings.

      2. Tap the three dots > Log Out.

      3. Tap Log Out.

      4. On the confirmation pop-up, tap Log Out.
