Troubleshooting Steps

The activation PIN/code is not received as an OTP on the iPhone.

The issue lies with the following entities:

  • Meta / WhatsApp

  • Apple / iPhone

This issue occurs in WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business Apps. As a result, the same issue is observed in WhatsApp Phone Archiver.

Some potential fixes are:

  • Network Issues:
A stable internet connection is crucial for receiving OTPs. Ensure that your iOS device has a reliable internet connection through cellular data.

  • Do Not Disturb Mode:
If your iOS device is in the “Do Not Disturb” mode, it may suppress notifications, including OTPs. Make sure that your device is not in this mode when expecting an OTP.

  • iMessage Issues:
If you are using iMessage for SMS, ensure that iMessage is activated and working properly. If you encounter issues, you may try temporarily disabling iMessage to receive OTPs via standard SMS.

  • iOS Settings:
Check your iOS settings to ensure that messages and notifications are allowed for the relevant apps, including the one generating the OTP.

  • iOS Updates:
Ensure that your iOS device is running the latest version of the operating system. Updates may include bug fixes and improvements that could address any issues related to OTP delivery.

  • Blocked Contacts:
Ensure that the sender’s number is not blocked on your iOS device.

  • Filter unknown senders:
Ensure that the setting to filter unknown senders is turned off.

  • Roaming is set to OFF
Ensure that roaming is turned ON in your iOS device.

  • Activate WhatsApp Business on Android and then migrate to WhatsApp on an iPhone:

    1. Activate the same number with WhatsApp Business app on an Android phone.

    2. Migrate your app to WhatsApp on your iOS device.

Note

You will need two phones to accomplish this.
