You can transfer Telegram chat history from the native Telegram app to Telegram Capture.
Note
When you sign in to a new Telegram installation with an existing account, all previous chats, except Private chats and deleted messages, are automatically transferred to the new app. All messages exchanged going forward are synchronized with devices connected to the account while exchanging the messages.
Prerequisites
Before you transfer Telegram chat history, ensure the following:
Your native Telegram account is linked to your mobile number.
Your Telegram Capture account is linked to the enterprise number provided by Smarsh in the Welcome email.
Transfer Chat History
To transfer chat history:
Link your existing account on the native Telegram app with the enterprise number provided by Smarsh in the Welcome email.
Open the native Telegram app.
Tap the menu icon.

Under Account, tap the phone number.

Tap Change Number.

In the Change number pop-up, tap CHANGE.

In the New Number screen, enter the enterprise number provided by Smarsh in the Welcome email.

Tap the
icon.
You will receive a verification code as an SMS.Enter the verification code received.
If you do not receive a verification code, contact Smarsh support.
Your account and the chat history on your native Telegram app is now linked to your enterprise number provided by Smarsh.
Sign in to Telegram Capture.
During sign in, the app requests for permissions to access your calls, contacts, media, and more. Tap Allow to all.Open Telegram Capture and tap Start Messaging.

Enter the enterprise number provided by Smarsh in the Welcome email and tap
.
Enter the verification code.

You have successfully signed in to Telegram Capture with your enterprise number and the chat history from your native Telegram app is displayed.
Note
Since you are signed in to your native Telegram app, the verification code is sent to the app. If you have uninstalled the native Telegram app, tap Send the code as an SMS link and follow the onscreen instructions.
You can also receive the verification code through a call from Telegram. If you still face issues to receive the verification code, contact Smarsh support.
Uninstall the native Telegram app.
Note
If you want to continue using the native Telegram app with your mobile number, Smarsh recommends that you uninstall the app and reinstall it. Sign in using your mobile number.
