Disabling Enhanced Messaging for Samsung Users

To disable Samsung Enhanced Messaging, the enterprise administrator must block messages for employees using an MDM/EMM tool or Samsung Knox Enterprise tools.

Voice Calls

Ensure that the following prerequisites are met to archive Voice calls:

Disabling Call Forwarding

Android Capture does not record calls or capture call logs if the call is forwarded to another number. An administrator can disable call forwarding for all employees in the organization by requesting the mobile carrier to prevent individual users from activating call forwarding. If this option is not feasible, users must manually disable call forwarding on their Android device.

To disable call forwarding:

Note

Most Android devices have the same settings. However, some options may vary based on the phone an employee is using.

  1. Open the Phone app on your Android phone.

  2. Tap the Menu icon > Settings.

  3. Tap Call Settings.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • If the option is available, tap Call Forwarding.

    • Else, tap More Settings > Call Forwarding.

  5. Tap Voice Calls.

  6. Ensure all options are turned Off.

Disabling Wi-Fi Calls

To ensure that mobile phone calls are archived through the Android Capture, you must manually turn off Wi-Fi calling. If Wi-Fi calling is turned on, only the call metadata is archived, but not the actual call recording. Calls that were made or received before disabling Wi-Fi calling are not recorded. Only the calls that are made or received after disabling Wi-Fi calling are recorded.

On many Android devices, Wi-Fi calling is available in the Quick Setting Menu, swipe down from the top of the screen and disable Wi-Fi calling.

If Wi-Fi calling is not available in the Quick Setting Menu, to disable Wi-Fi calling:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Wi-Fi settings.

  3. Disable Wi-Fi Calling.

Wi-Fi Calling is turned off.

If neither of the options are available on your phone to disable Wi-Fi calling, consult your owner’s manual for instructions.

Enabling Microphone Permissions

Android Capture requires microphone permissions to record calls. An administrator can enable the microphone permission using a policy that is pushed to users' devices through an MDM tool. If this option is not feasible, users must enable the permission on their Android devices.

To enable microphone permissions:

Note

Most Android devices have the same settings. However, some options may vary based on the phone an employee is using.

  1. Open Settings on your Android device.

  2. Tap Apps.

  3. Tap Capture Mobile Android.

  4. Tap Permissions.

  5. In the App Permissions window, turn On the Microphone permissions.

Enabling Automatic Call Recording

Android Capture audits native call recordings. To capture native call recordings, ensure that automatic call recording is turned On:

Note

Most Android devices have the same settings. However, some options may vary based on the phone an employee is using.

  1. Open the Phone app.

  2. Tap the Menu icon > Settings > Recording Calls.

  3. Turn On Auto recording for All numbers.

  4. Tap Recorded calls and set the location where the call recordings must be saved.
