Capture Mobile supports number porting and hosted messaging.
Number porting is a mechanism to port your mobile number from the current provider to another provider.
Hosted messaging is the ability to route your text messaging traffic from a supported landline provider to a Capture Mobile enterprise number. This allows you to archive text messages using the Capture Mobile application.
To port your mobile number or host text messaging, fill the form here and submit an onboarding request. After Smarsh receives an approval from the carrier(s), the feature is activated.
Note
Number porting and hosted messaging is not supported by all providers. Smarsh will validate the number with providers prior to activating the feature.
Hosting numbers is basically partial porting of a VoIP number. This feature is appropriate to organizations using VoIP landline services, who want to use their existing numbers as Capture Mobile enterprise numbers.
When this feature is activated, the text messaging is ported to the enterprise number while voice calls continue through the original provider.
Note
Customers must sign an LOA to activate the feature.
Hosting numbers is supported only with Capture Mobile app.
