Non-Standard Sender Name or Email in Archived Messages

When messages are archived, the sender name of email ID is displayed as 0@archive.telemessage.com. For example:

The most common causes for this scenario are when a user receives either of the following:

  • A message from another user who is not in the contact list

  • WhatsApp system events

  • Feature promotions

However, the non-standard name or email can also occur if your phone number or enterprise number was previously allocated to another user, and the previous user deleted their account. In this scenario, the WhatsApp encryption keys cannot be exchanged with the sender and a placeholder proxy is substituted for the unavailable sender.
