Exiting from Group

Prev Next

You can exit a group in WebChat for various reasons and at any time. Some common reasons for exiting a group include:

  • Personal preference: If the group is no longer relevant or interesting to you, you might choose to exit.

  • Too many notifications: If the group generates too many notifications, leading to distractions or interruptions, you might exit to regain focus.

  • Privacy concerns: If you feel uncomfortable sharing personal information or being part of a particular conversation within the group, you may choose to exit for privacy reasons.

When a member exits a group, the group is only exited from that member's account. It remains accessible to other members.

When a group admin exits the group, they have the option to:

  • Assign a new admin: They can choose another member to become the new admin before permanently exiting the group.

  • Random Selection: If no new admin is assigned, the system will randomly select an existing member to become the new admin.

To exit from the group:

  1. Locate the group from which you wish to exit.

  2. Click on the group name or profile picture at the top of the chat window and then click Exit group in the Group info screen.
    Or
Click on the ellipsis icon and then click Exit group.

  3. In the Exit group confirmation box, click Exit.

You will exit the group and will no longer be part of it.
