Adding Participants to an Existing Group

A group admin or a group owner can add participants to an existing group. If you are not a group admin or a group owner, this option is not available.

To add a participant to an existing group:

1. Locate the group to which you want to add participants.

2. Select the group name or the profile picture at the top of the chat window.
   Or
   Select the ellipsis icon, and then select Group info.
   

3. In the Group info screen, select Add participant.
   

4. In the Add participant screen, select the participants that you want to add, and then click Add participants.
   
   The participants are added to the group.

Note

In a WhatsApp group, you can add only users with version 5.04.12 or later of the Mobile Capture app for Android, or version 5.7.21 or later for iOS. Users with an earlier version are not added to the group.
