You can back up you chat messages on an Android device to your Google Drive account.
Note
WhatsApp Phone Capture supports back up on Android versions 10 and above.
If a user has multiple Google accounts connected and selects the wrong account during backup, WhatsApp Phone Capture is unable to restore the backup. Users should avoid connecting multiple Google accounts if they wish to restore backup from a Google account.
To back up your chat messages:
Navigate to Settings.
Tap Chats > Chat Backup > Google Account.
In the Google storage backup screen, select Only when I tap "Back up".

Tap Google Account to select an existing Google account or add a new Google account.

The selected Google account is added.Tap Back up.
The application takes some time to back up existing chat messages to your Google account.

In the Restore from Backup screen, tap Cancel.
Note
If you restore chat messages from device back up, you will not be able to restore from Google back up.
Tap Give permission to allow WhatsApp Phone Archiver to check and restore previous backed up chat messages, if any.

Select a Google account from where the backup must be restored.
The process to restore chat messages begins.
Important
You cannot schedule back up to a Google account. You must manually tap Back up to back up the latest data.
When chat messages are backed up on two devices with the same account using the same Google account, the last back up is saved.
When data back up to the local device and Google Drive is blocked, the Back up button is greyed.
When data back up to only Google Drive is blocked, the Google Account and Frequency settings are greyed.
A server setting disables backing up chat history to Google Drive on Android devices. To disable chat history back up to Google Drive, send a request to your Account Manager or initiate an Onboarding case. An administrator will enable the setting for your organization.
