This section explains the limitations for Capture Mobile products.
Fair Use Policy
When using the Capture Mobile mobile archiving products in your organization, each employee in the organization requires a license. Using the same license to archive communication data from multiple employees is a violation of Smarsh Terms of Service.
Users on unlimited plans are capped according to Capture Mobile's fair usage policy. As per this policy, the monthly usage cap between Capture Mobile apps is:
3,000 SMS/MMS texts sent or received
3,000 call minutes
10,000 IP messages
If a user exceeds this limit:
Capture Mobile might block the delivery of messages and calls.
Capture Mobile might validate abnormal usage patterns and engage with users to ensure they are not abusing the service or spamming other users.
Capture Mobile might disable accounts that are not compliant with the fair use policy.
Product Specific Limitations
Users are always restricted from calling premium-rate numbers.
Reassigning Corporate Numbers:
When a corporate phone number is removed from one user and later reassigned to another user, the newly assigned user may receive messages that were sent before the reassignment.
This behavior might occur in Carrier Capture or any Capture Mobile app due to the carrier retry mechanism. If messages were sent while the phone number was not assigned to any active user, the system cannot associate those messages with the previous user. Once the number is reassigned, any pending messages within the carrier retry window may be delivered to the new user.
As a result, the new user may receive messages that were sent prior to the number being assigned to them. This behavior is observed in the first 14 days of reassigning a corporate number.
