Applicable to End Users

When an incoming PSTN or IP call is not answered within 40 seconds, an automated answering machine answers the call. Some reasons for the call not being answered are:

  • Call was rejected

  • Busy

  • Unavailable

  • User is engaged in an active call in another app

When the automated answering machine answers the call, the caller is welcomed by the greeting message “The person at extension [dialed number] is not available. Record your message at the tone. Press any key or stop talking to end the recording.”

If the caller records a message at the end of the tone, a voicemail is created. Voicemail is automatically activated for every Mobile Capture user. The recorded voicemail is sent to Mobile Capture as a voicemail thread.

To end the recording, the caller can either hang up, press any key, or stay silent for 4 seconds. The automated answering machine will reply “Message saved. Goodbye.” and disconnects the call.
