Setting Battery Saver in iOS

Prev Next

Applicable to End Users on iOS Devices

When you are running two instances of WhatsApp on your iPhone, you might experience higher battery consumption. In this scenario, Smarsh allows users to better control how WhatsApp Phone Capture runs in the foreground and background. This flexibility ensures the app will not consume battery at all times.

If you have activated automatic wake-up, the way you will receive messages and calls might be impacted.

When you encounter the high battery consumption issue, you can mitigate the issue by changing your automatic wake-up settings. This will reduce the availability percentage of the app but can drastically reduce battery usage. You can contact Smarsh support to reduce WhatsApp Phone Capture availability percentage.

By default, the availability percentage is set to 100% and the app is always active in the background. The app will receive a phone call every seven minutes, from Blocked TeleMessage WhatsApp Archiver Number, to push message and call notifications.

Example:

Consider the WhatsApp Phone Capture availability percentage is set to 80%. In this scenario, the app remains active in the background for 80% of seven minutes. That is, for 5.6 minutes, the app stays on the background. For the remaining 1.4 minutes, the app will be removed from the background and closed by iOS. All messages and calls received while the app is removed from background are delayed until the next wake-up cycle.

This setting will remove higher battery consumption on your device, but will cause a delay in receiving WhatsApp messages.

Note

In case you experience battery drain, reduce the battery saver configuration between 20% to 30%.
