WeChat Work (WeCom) is the app utilized for business communication. Smarsh Capture Mobile's solution captures data from iOS and Android devices. The application captures the following WeChat features:

  • One-to-One chats

  • Group chats

  • Text messages

  • Voice calls

  • Multimedia

  • Attachments

  • Deletions

WeChat Capture archives communication data from the following applications when synchronized:

  • WeChat mobile application

  • WeChat desktop interface

The captured communication can be archived to any supported secondary storage device. The archived messages and calls are stored with the content, employee email, and other message metadata. You can search and filter calls and messages in the archive using employee name, email, mobile number, message type, and attachments.

WeChat Capture separates private and business communication data on BYOD devices.

You can use this solution when:

  • Employees use WeChat to communicate with peers, clients, and stakeholders.

  • You need to capture, archive, administer, and reporting of WeChat communications.

  • The organization allows employees to use their own mobile devices (BYOD).

Note

Smarsh does not capture WeChat consumer app communication as it involves private chats. Smarsh supports only WeChat Work, also known as WeCom.

  • WeChat: When referring to the entire product itself.

  • WeCom App: When specifically referencing the mobile application for accessing WeCom functionalities.
