The following licenses and requirements are needed to record Microsoft Teams Phone Mobile Capture:
Licensing Requirements
A Microsoft 365 E5 license, or a Microsoft 365 E3 license with Teams Phone Standard.
A Teams Phone Mobile (TPM) license, required to enable native mobile voice calls:
Provided by the carrier
Provided by Microsoft (required only if you do not have a Microsoft 365 E5 license)
A Smarsh Capture Mobile license is required to enable Teams Phone Mobile Capture.
SMS/MMS Capture (Optional)
The following requirements apply only if SMS/MMS capture is required:
A Network Carrier Capture license from Smarsh.
An active agreement with the mobile carrier to enable capture and archiving of SMS/MMS data.

A carrier agreement is not required for native mobile voice call recording
Setup and Configuration
Smarsh Service Delivery (SGS) handles the onboarding process, which includes provisioning, connector configuration, and validation.
Activation
To begin recording Microsoft Teams Phone Mobile Capture communication data, contact your Smarsh representative to enable capture using the Smarsh Call Recording and Analytics solution.
A one-time onboarding fee may apply during initial setup.
License costs are subscription-based and typically charged per user, per month, depending on the number of Teams-enabled subscribers.
Renewal and support are included under the annual Smarsh subscription plan.
