International customers without a registered legal entity in mainland China use local Chinese partner for WeCom Admin hosting. FuguMobile is a third-party provider that hosts WeCom Enterprise accounts on behalf of international companies, letting them use WeChat Capture without setting up a Chinese business entity.
Smarsh sells only the archiving integration and does not provision, manage, or assume liability for the customer's WeCom Admin. Direct customer questions about WeCom Admin issues to the local Chinese partner, not to Smarsh Support.
How It Works
The customer's organization is provisioned as a department inside the local Chinese partner WeCom Enterprise account, managed by a sub-admin.
Customer's employees download the standard WeCom app and register under the local Chinese partner’s enterprise.
Smarsh's archiving connector lives in the local Chinese partner WeCom Enterprise account, capturing messages from the customer's users.
Messages flow Tencent > Azure China > Smarsh Archive Router > customer's enterprise archive.
