The following prerequisites must be met to archive the O2 data:

  • Ensure that you have purchased O2 Capture (MVR) directly from O2 and have a corporate or enterprise account. An O2 representative will assist with enabling the feature.

  • Ensure that you have an administrator account and user licenses from Capture Mobile.

  • Ensure that you have an O2 account with necessary billing contact details for completing onboarding forms.

  • Acquire the O2 public key for SFTP, generated by Smarsh. This key must be deployed by O2.

  • Ensure that employees use corporate-owned and corporate-liable mobile devices on the O2 network, as the product is not available for employee-owned devices.

  • Inform employees that the service is for mobile compliance and governance and that their communications will be archived.

  • Inform the Smarsh representative of the desired destination for archived data (for example, Microsoft 365 or SMTP). Provide necessary details, such as the email address for viewing archived data if choosing SMTP.

  • Disable any enhanced messaging service, such as iMessage on iOS devices and RCS on Android devices, to facilitate message archiving.
