Applicable to Administrators

The WeChat Capture service offers two deployment options:

  • Hosted: This is ideal for companies that do not have a registered company in China or prefer not to utilize their own WeCom account. Hosted users are placed in a dedicated, isolated department within the WeCom account.

  • Company-Owned WeCom Account: This is designed for companies with a registered company in China who wish to leverage their existing WeCom account for archiving. Companies opting for this configuration will route their archived WeCom items to the Smarsh capture service.

Hosted Configuration

Smarsh will provision a dedicated department within your company's existing WeCom account for your WeChat employees. The onboarding process involves filling out a form with employee information and completing a few key steps.

To initiate onboarding, please complete the TeleMessage onboarding form, providing the following information:

  • Company Name: Specify the company name.

  • Archive Destination: Specify the location where you want your archived messages stored.

  • Employees Information:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Mobile Number (International format)

    • Email Address (Optional)

    • Nickname (Optional)

    • Account ID (if the employee already has a WeCom account)

    • Admin
