Applicable to End Users

To ensure seamless and uninterrupted communication on the WhatsApp Phone Capture app and WhatsApp Native or WhatsApp Business, while using WhatsApp Cloud Capture, follow these guidelines as best practice. These precautions help reduce the chances of triggering anti-spam or anti-abuse mechanisms implemented by WhatsApp Meta.

After you set your account:

  • Update your profile

Set your profile picture and nickname during the initial set up or right after installation.

  • Start with receiving messages

Avoid sending outgoing messages immediately after setting up your account. Instead, receive several messages and calls in a one-to-one thread with one of your contacts to establish a stable connection.

  • Avoid creating groups or broadcasts
    • Refrain from creating groups or sending broadcast messages within the first 48 hours.

    • Do not create more than three groups or broadcast lists in a single day.

    • If you need to create more than three groups or broadcasts, distribute their creation over an extended period.

  • Provide group information

When creating a new group, share relevant information with group members to reduce the risk of being reported for unsolicited communications.

  • Limit messages to known contacts

During the first 48 hours, send messages only to contacts who likely have your number saved in their contact list.

  • Refrain from connecting to parallel sessions in the first 48 hours
    • WhatsApp Phone Capture: After you install or reinstall the app, establish a secure communication channel on the app for at least 48 hours before connecting to WhatsApp Web or Desktop.

    • WhatsApp Cloud Capture: After you install or reinstall the native WhatsApp app or WhatsApp Business, establish a secure communication channel on the app for at least 48 hours before you scan the QR code (received from Smarsh) to onboard to WhatsApp Cloud Capture.
