WeCom onboarding can support email registration rather than mobile registration. If you do not wish to expose your mobile number, you can register and archive by email.

Although the mobile number is used in signup verification, it is not exposed to WeCom/WeChat contacts or the WeCom admin.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that you have an existing WeChat (not WeCom) app logged in on your mobile phone linked to an email address.
         

  • Ensure that you are provisioned on the company’s WeCom admin portal with a matching email address.

Registering WeCom App

To register the WeCom app:

  1. Tap WECHAT LOGIN.

  2. Enter your mobile number.

    Note

    This is only for registration. Your mobile number will not be displayed outside of your app.

  3. Enter the email address linked to your WeChat account and tap Next.

    A pin code will be sent to the email address entered. The code will expire in 15 minutes.

  4. Enter the pin code received and tap NEXT.

  5. To use the same WeChat account details on your new WeCom account, tap Agree.
    If you wish to edit new account details, tap Create Alias.

  6. Select required permissions and tap 同意 (Agree).

    Your company name is displayed.

  7. Tap Enter.

  8. Tap OK.

    Your WeCom account is ready.
