Manual Re-Archiving is a feature designed to help admins retrieve historical data for specific users over a defined date range. This feature proves invaluable in scenarios where data might have been missed or lost, whether due to delays in app installation or deliberate actions to circumvent the archiving process.
For instance, imagine an admin needs access to data from six months ago for an employee investigation. Manually navigating through six months of records would be cumbersome and time-intensive. With the Re-Archive feature, admins can simply specify the user and the date range, streamlining the process and saving considerable effort.
Initiating Manual Re-Archiving
To initiate a manual re-archiving process, administrators must contact Smarsh Support and provide the following information:
An approval from the company Admin (through email) is required. Approval from roles such as Sub Manager or Pro Manager is also acceptable.
Username(s) for whom data is being re-archived.
The date range for retrieval.
Once Smarsh receives re-archiving request, Smarsh support representative will initiate the re-archiving process. Traffic information will typically be delivered to the archiving destination within 24 hours, based on the company’s archiving settings.
