Logging In To The Admin Portal

Applicable to Administrators

As an administrator, you can choose to log in to the Admin Portal using your username credentials.

You will receive the URL to the Admin Portal and log in details from Smarsh. You can choose to receive these details as an email or SMS.

Note

If you are a first time user, you must reset your password on your first login.

  1. Open the Admin Portal using the link in the email received from Smarsh.

  2. Click Forgot Password and reset your password.

To log in to the Admin Portal:

  1. Open the Admin Portal using the link in the email received from Smarsh.
    You are redirected to the login screen.

    Note

    If you do not remember your password, click Forgot Password to reset your password.

  2. Enter your username and password.

  3. Click Sign In.

    Note

    If you enter an incorrect username or password, the following error message is displayed:

    Click Forgot Password to reset your password.

  4. You are redirected to verify your identity. You can verify your identity in one of the following ways:

    • Using your phone number or email
      If your phone number and email address are saved in the Capture Mobile server, you can choose to authenticate your account using either of these.

      1. In the Select a method to verify your identity screen:

        • Select SMS to authenticate your account using your phone number. The 6-digit verification code is sent to your phone number as an SMS.

        • Select Email to authenticate your account using your email address. The 6-digit verification code is sent to your email address.

      2. In the Verify Your Identity screen, enter the 6-digit code received.

      3. Click Continue.

        You are redirected to the User Management page on the Admin Portal.

    • Using your phone number
      If only your phone number is saved in the Capture Mobile server, the 6-digit verification code is sent to you as an SMS. In the Verify Your Identity screen, enter the 6-digit code received and click Continue. You are redirected to the User Management page on the Admin Portal.

    • Using your email
      If only your email is saved in the Capture Mobile server, the 6-digit verification code is sent to your email address. In the Verify Your Identity screen, enter the 6-digit code received and click Continue. You are redirected to the User Management page on the Admin Portal.

Note

  • The 6-digit verification code is valid for five minutes. 

  • If the OTP entered is incorrect or invalid, the message “ The code you entered is invalid or has expiredPlease request a new code to continue.“ is displayed. Click Resend to request a new verification code.

  • You must complete the login process within 10 minutes of landing on the login screen, or the session expires. 

Resetting Your Password

If you forget your password during login, you can reset it using the Forgot Password link.

To reset your password:

  1. Open the admin portal URL.

  2. Click Forgot Password on the login screen.

    The Reset Your Password screen is displayed.

  3. Enter your username, phone number, or email address associated to your account in the Capture Mobile server.

    Note

    Include the + symbol and country code when entering your phone number.

    • If you enter your username or email, the link to reset your password is sent to your email. See Email Flow.

    • If you enter your phone number, a 6-digit verification code is sent as an SMS. See SMS Flow.

Email Flow

When you choose to authenticate your account using your email, a password reset link is sent to your email address.

  1. Click the reset password link in the email received from Smarsh.
    You are redirected to create a new password.

  2. In the Create Your Password screen: 

    1. Type a new password in the New Password box.

    2. Re-type the new password in the Confirm New Password box.

      Note

      The password must include:

      • A minimum of 16 characters.

      • At least 3 of the following:

        • Uppercase letters

        • Lowercase letters

        • Digits

        • Symbols 

    3. Click Reset Password.
      The Password Changed page is displayed.

    4. Click Back to Login.

You are redirected to the login screen. Log in to the admin portal using your new password.

SMS Flow

When you choose to authenticate your account using a phone number, the 6-digit verification code is sent as an SMS. 

  1. In the Check Your Phone screen, enter the 6-digit verification code received.

  2. Click Continue.

  3. In the Create Your Password screen: 

    1. Type a new password in the New Password box.

    2. Re-type the new password in the Confirm New Password box.

      Note

      The password must include:

      • A minimum of 16 characters.

      • At least 3 of the following:

        • Uppercase letters

        • Lowercase letters

        • Digits

        • Symbols 

    3. Click Reset Password.
      The Password Changed page is displayed.

  4. Click Back to Login.

You are redirected to the login screen. Log in to the admin portal using your new password.
